Auteur-compositeur-interprète et multi-instrumentiste, Simon McDonnell chante, joue de la guitare, de la mandoline, de l’harmonica, du tin whistle et du bodhrán. Il se produit actuellement au sein de plusieurs formations internationales, telles que le McDonnell Trio, La Réveilleuse, Fahrenheit et Transatlanticks. Depuis 2007, il a également joué avec Dirty Linen, Celtica et Celtic Fantasy, et a produit deux albums de compositions originales : « The Hidden River » et « Simon McDonnell & Spring Barley ». Né à Kilkenny, en Irlande, Simon McDonnell a grandi en France et vit aujourd’hui à Rennes.
